Tribute to Nokt - Mist and Nebbia

Zarya counted on the sisterly bond of Mist and Nebbia to accomplish the complex dance of stunts and acrobatics she and Tule Eir trained them to perform. During the training in the past months they’ve been increasingly getting better and better and only once Mist crashed into Nebbia’s back during one of the most complex moves, but that was due to the bigger Stryx growing a bit too much in a short time, which threw them out of balance for a while. No one got injured since Tule Eir managed to pull her out of the collision in time, but still Zarya was a bit worried because Nebbia was growing more and more and it could happen again. It had been a long while since Zarya was this much worried, but she didn’t want anything bad to happen to her Stryx. Tule Eir snapped her out of her thoughts by reminding her that they still had to train once more for that day and, this time, get used to staying up until the morning.

The night was a bit too cloudy and Nokt showed her beautiful face only when her soft vaporous dress left her space to gaze down on her children getting ready for the dancing Tribute in her honor.

After a quick talk with one of the organizators, Zarya walked up to her two Stryx cleaning each other’s feathers and told them to get ready since they were in the second group and the first was about to take off. Everyone’s performance went pretty smoothly, yet Tule Eir kept making remarks about how someone’s tail wasn’t in perfect harmony with the rest of the body or about how two Stryx failed their respective acrobatics to avoid hitting each other mid-turn, which surely didn’t help calming a very worried Zarya who almost missed their call by wondering about how something could go horribly wrong. “A good way to start”, she thought.

The takeoff was smooth, both Stryx spiraled up in the sky without touching each other. They followed the program nicely without even needing a word or correction from their riders, separating right after the spiral and performing every loop or maneuver perfectly, but they still needed to show what they were capable off to Nokt and the judges. At the set time, Nebbia and Mist got closer and started to dance in the sky, purposely almost touching to the point Zarya could hear someone gasp from below. A thin layer of clouds decided to cover the moon at the wrong time and Tule Eir looked at Zarya in a somehow confused way as the two dragons were circling in an infinite chase, but Zarya shouted “UP!” with sudden determination and Nebbia and Mist darted up in the sky back to back. A moment after they broke the clouds Mist dived back into them and Nebbia turned upside down and dived right after her half sister, while Zarya let the saddle go and let herself fall back between the small portion of sky between the two dragons, accompanied only by Tule Eir who acted as a her wings.

A few seconds before reaching the ground Mist twisted herself while opening her silver wings, catching Zarya while Tule Eir climbed on Nebbia, who was doing the same."
